Co-Creational Safety Workshops

All Straight Talk Safety co-creational safety services start with a short video call to determine your Hopes and Dreams for the workshop.

Examples could include:

  • Wanting to Declutter and clean-up your current safety management systems.
  • Reviewing your safety dashboards to explore what’s helpful and what’s not, and what to actually usefully do with all that data.
  • Figuring out what’s missing from your current safety management approach and exploring the latest research able to fill any gaps.
  • Unpicking your safety culture (scientifically and pragmatically, of course!) to highlight and explore opportunities for enhancement.
  • Working with your safety teams to develop new strategies for interaction with other operational teams, to provide them with the support needed to change other systems and processes for the benefit of safety.
  • Developing and shaping new initiatives to ensure they are tailored to find best fit on your organization’s jobsites.

Straight Talk Safety’s co-creational workshops aim to help you optimize what you do and how you’re doing it. Fred’s proven facilitation skills ensure everyone gets heard, all ideas are captured and distilled, and through the co-creational approach, motivation and support from the team becomes baked in. Her exceptional knowledge of international safety research means a whole library of safety science is at her fingertips throughout the day to ensure the very latest research knowledge underpins and informs discussions.

The focus is on developing practical and realizable changes, rather than a new cliché or safety slogan to plaster on your hoardings. The co-creational approach helps create pragmatic and meaningful results and recommendations, developed specifically for your organization with the folks who’ll also be implementing and using them. Field-focused workshops should include field representation, to ensure any plans made don’t immediately dissolve on contact with reality!

Taking part in a Straight Talk Safety workshop is great CPD for everyone involved, and leaves a sustainable legacy of change, empowerment, and improved capabilities and confidence amongst your safety teams and fieldworkers.

Depending on your specific Hopes and Dreams, workshops can be scheduled for a half day, one or two full days. Each workshop can include up to 20 participants, and multiple workshops can be held as needed. They can also be scaled up depending on your organizations’ ambitions – for systemic change or a full company ‘reset’, a full series of workshops with safety teams and field workers across the entire organization can also be arranged.

A final report with background context (including relevant academic literature), a detailed review of the workshop outcomes and outputs, and clear and practical recommendations will be provided by Straight Talk Safety five working days after each workshop.
